I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role

This is a hands on national sales leadership position rather than a role managed primarily through reports and meetings. You will spend meaningful time in the field with the team, coaching on live opportunities, developing selling capability, understanding customer needs and removing barriers to growth. Alongside this you will establish the structure and discipline required to support a high performing national sales function.

You will have responsibility for national sales performance including revenue and gross profit, while developing the people, processes and commercial methods with the aim of achieving sustainable and continued growth.

The role will require you to balance:

  • Existing customer growth with new business development
  • Regional ownership with national priorities
  • Coaching with accountability
  • Direct sales with channel and distribution partners
  • Short-term revenue delivery with longer-term market development
  • Commercial strategy with practical customer and market insight

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced sales leader who combines commercial rigour with a practical people focused approach.

You will ideally bring:

  • A proven track record of sales leadership within medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals or another similarly complex commercial environment.
  • Experience leading field based sales teams and demonstrable success in improving individual and team performance.
  • A hands on coaching style and confidence having challenging performance conversations when required.
  • Strong commercial understanding across revenue, gross profit, pricing, customer value and sales prioritisation.
  • A disciplined approach to CRM, pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Experience winning new business while retaining, developing and growing existing customers.
  • The ability to lead change and introduce greater structure within an SME environment.
