Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for monitoring workplace activities and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures on the job site. This role requires the flexibility to co-locate at the project location with a travel package that aligns with the Hunt Electric traveling plan.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop/Implement/Manage site specific safety programs (LOTO, Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, etc.) on sites and facilities.
  • Directly oversee the daily activities of Project Safety Representatives and provide guidance and support.
  • Attend safety pre-planning meetings with project management and subcontractors to discuss high-risk activities and site safety requirements.
  • Ensure safety training and orientations meet project/facility expectations and is performed.
  • Prepare/Conduct/Facilitate specialty training as needed.
  • Educate workers about the company’s safety policy and procedures.
  • Conduct regular jobsite/facility safety surveys if applicable, to identify hazardous conditions, unsafe acts, and in the contrary, identify safe work behaviors and best practices.
  • Ensure that the inspections of machinery, equipment, and tools that are being utilized are performed accordingly.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
  • Facilitate and participate in Incident Review for recordable injuries, high potential injuries, incidents, and near misses.
  • Write and/or ensure that detailed reports are written on inspections, on-site incidents, and near miss/good catch through KPA flex or other required software platforms.
  • Help create and deliver weekly toolbox talks, monthly safety reports and safety bulletins stemming from near miss/good catch reporting.
  • Participate in and represent Hunt Safety Department for OSHA Consultations, and General Contractor Safety Meetings.
  • Participate in and promote the Stretch and Flex program.
  • Share lessons learned and maintain the safety culture of Hunt Electric.
  • Coordinate with Hunt Safety Program Team
    • Notify Hunt Program team of all safety incidents onsite, including wins.
    • Assist with updating site-specific safety manual(s), coordinating with Trade Partners, Subcontractors, General Contractors, and Owners requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and BCSP certification - CHST or CSP required.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of construction safety experience.
  • Skilled in leading daily activities of up to 8 direct reports.
  • Safety experience within the electrical industry preferred.
  • Ability to train, influence, and motivate team members.
  • Demonstrates industry knowledge and independent judgment to make decisions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with individuals with a variety of backgrounds.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.

Physical Requirements

  • This job operates at a job site and exposed to hazards typical of a construction site.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and photocopiers.
  • Employees are frequently required to walk on uneven surfaces, sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
  • This position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must wear hard hat, work boots, safety glasses, gloves, and a high visibility vest.

Pay Range

$92,160.00 - $128,000.00

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only. In addition to base compensation, Hunt Electric offers a robust benefits plan.
