Join Our Team

Are you passionate about creating safe, welcoming spaces where children and families can play, explore and connect with nature?

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Playground Inspector to join Plymouth City Council's Natural Environment Service. This is an exciting opportunity to help maintain and improve playgrounds and outdoor recreation facilities across the city, ensuring they remain safe, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The Natural Environment Service

This is an exciting time to join a pioneering team delivering nationally significant environmental projects. As Britain's Ocean City, Plymouth is home to internationally important marine habitats, vibrant parks and green spaces, and a thriving natural environment. Through our playgrounds and recreation facilities, we help thousands of residents and visitors connect with nature, improve wellbeing, and enjoy the outdoors.

About The Role

As a Playground Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring Plymouth's play areas are safe, compliant and well maintained. You will undertake routine inspections, identify defects and hazards, assess risks, and repairs to keep playground equipment and associated facilities in excellent condition.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
