Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Felixstowe, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The role focuses on managing the import of natural stones, including coordinating with international suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant delivery of materials. Daily activities include handling purchase orders, monitoring shipments, managing documentation (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, customs forms), and updating internal systems with accurate shipment and inventory data. The role also involves maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, tracking quality issues, and collaborating with sales and operations teams to align stock availability with project requirements. The individual will be expected to support process improvements, maintain compliance with import regulations, and provide clear, prompt communication to colleagues, customers, and external partners.

- Candidates should possess experience in import/export operations, international trade, or logistics, preferably within natural stone, building materials, or related sectors.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in documentation management and compliance, including familiarity with shipping documents, customs regulations, incoterms, and basic trade finance instruments.
- Candidates should possess abilities in supplier and stakeholder communication, including clear written and verbal communication, relationship management, and negotiation.
- Candidates should possess operational and organizational skills, such as attention to detail, time management, priority setting, and coordination across multiple shipments and projects.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in common business software (e.g., spreadsheets, ERP or inventory systems, email and collaboration tools) and be comfortable working with data and reports.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in supply chain, international business, logistics, or a related field are beneficial; professional certifications in trade or logistics are an advantage.
- Knowledge of the natural stone industry, construction supply chains, or materials sourcing, along with experience in a hybrid work environment, will be considered beneficial.
