MUFG is seeking a Non-Bank Financial Institutions Credit Analyst to join its esteemed London-based team. What you'll do:

In the capacity of Non-Bank Financial Institutions Credit Analyst, you will assume a pivotal role in managing risk exposure across an extensive EMEA portfolio. Your daily activities will encompass close collaboration with Vice Presidents, relationship bankers, and product partners on live transactions. You will undertake comprehensive credit analyses, facilitate annual reviews, and assist in devising advanced risk mitigation strategies. By engaging in cross-regional projects and participating in collective learning sessions, you will help strengthen client relationships whilst advancing the organisation’s expanding NBFI franchise. Success in this position necessitates adaptability, unwavering attention to detail, and dedication to ongoing skill enhancement.   • Collaborate with Vice Presidents and relationship bankers to oversee a varied portfolio of specialist lenders and leasing companies across developed economies, ensuring prudent risk management at all times.
  • Conduct meticulous fundamental credit analysis on Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs), including annual reviews and limit renewals, upholding exemplary standards of precision and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the expansion of the NBFI strategy by contributing to the formulation of risk-off solutions designed to mitigate exposures associated with complex financial transactions.
  • Work in concert with product partners to deliver tailored offerings such as securitised products, foreign exchange, interest rate solutions, and credit facilities aligned with client requirements.
  • Monitor evolving priorities within the portfolio, demonstrating adaptability while maintaining scrupulous attention to detail.
  • Ensure prompt adherence to internal policies and reporting protocols by preparing accurate documentation for senior stakeholders.
  • Advance technical skills and industry knowledge through participation in ongoing training initiatives provided by the organisation.
  • Engage in cross-regional collaboration with locally based bankers throughout Europe and Japan, utilising language proficiencies where appropriate.
  • Participate actively in knowledge-sharing sessions within the team to promote communal learning and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute towards fostering deeper client relationships by supporting strategic initiatives that underpin business expansion.

What you bring:

Your established experience as a Non-Bank Financial Institutions Credit Analyst encompasses practical exposure to fundamental credit analysis within financial institutions or related sectors. You possess a comprehensive understanding of macro-economic influences affecting NBFIs across EMEA markets. Your academic background—ideally at degree level—combined with progress towards professional qualifications such as CFA or ACCA positions you as an insightful contributor. Your inter-personal abilities enable effective collaboration across teams and regions, while your meticulousness ensures precision in every report or transaction review. You demonstrate reliability under pressure by meeting stringent deadlines without compromising quality. Your enthusiasm for continuous learning resonates with the organisation’s supportive ethos of training opportunities.   • Demonstrable experience in fundamental FI/NBFI credit analysis acquired within banking, asset management or rating agency settings is essential for this appointment.
  • A thorough understanding of macro-economic fundamentals pertinent to financial institutions operating across EMEA is required.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience is desirable; credentials such as CFA, ACCA, ACA or ACT are highly advantageous.
  • Experience managing FI/NBFI portfolios from a credit perspective evidences your capacity to address complex risk profiles effectively.
