Head of NBS Specifier Business Development
Newcastle upon Tyne | Hybrid (3 days per week in our Newcastle office) | Circa £105,000 OTE
Lead a new business sales team helping the construction industry build better.
At Hubexo, we provide data, insights and software that help customers across the construction market make better decisions, work more efficiently and build more sustainably. Through NBS Powered by Hubexo, we support architects, specifiers, manufacturers and construction professionals with trusted specification software, product information and digital tools.
We're looking for a Head of NBS Specifier Business Development to lead a team of Business Development Managers and Business Development Representatives focused on new business growth across the UK and Ireland.
This is a hands-on sales leadership role where you'll be accountable for revenue performance, pipeline quality, forecast accuracy and team development. You'll work closely with your team to improve prospecting, qualification, discovery, value selling, negotiation and close planning, while collaborating with Marketing, Customer Success, Product and Revenue Operations to drive commercial performance.

What you'll be responsible for
- Leading and developing a team of BDMs and BDRs focused on new business growth.
- Delivering against revenue, pipeline and customer acquisition targets.
- Driving sales standards across prospecting, qualification, discovery, value selling and closing.
- Improving pipeline quality, conversion and forecast accuracy.
- Coaching colleagues through opportunity reviews, call reviews and performance conversations.
- Using data and CRM insight to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and development of sales talent.
- Building a high-accountability culture focused on customer value and commercial results.
What we're looking for
- Experience leading or managing a B2B sales team.
- A proven track record of delivering sales results through others.
- Strong coaching capability across pipeline management, value selling, negotiation and closing.
- Experience managing forecasts, sales performance routines and CRM discipline.
- Confidence using HubSpot or a similar CRM platform.
- A data-led approach to performance management and decision making.
- The ability to set clear expectations and hold individuals accountable in a fair and constructive way.
- Experience within construction, architecture, specification, SaaS, subscriptions, data, insights or workflow software would be advantageous.
