The Opportunity

As an NDA File Handler, you will manage a caseload of litigated RTA (Road Traffic Accident) suspected fraud files across various insurance clients, collaborating closely with sophisticated claims handlers and the Lead Lawyer. This role demands a forensic, analytical approach, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to make informed decisions within set timeframes to protect the client’s interests while delivering effective litigation and identifying strategic commercial opportunities.

To this end, you will work across different fraudulent claim types, including but not limited to:

  • Bogus Passenger
  • Staged/Contrived Claims
  • Fraudulent Exaggeration
  • Induced Accidents
  • Low-Speed Impact Claims
  • Late Notification Claims
  • Credit Hire Fraud
  • Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) Claims
  • Organised/Linked Fraud

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Excellence

  • Conduct a detailed review and analysis of evidence throughout each case’s life cycle.
  • Collaborate with clients, Lead Lawyers, and Technical Leads to define and adhere to case strategies.
  • Identify strategic litigation opportunities, high-complexity cases, and emergent client trends.
  • Maintain focus on process adherence and filing excellence.

  • Achieve optimal litigation results, fully complying with the court timetable and utilising tactical advantages.
  • Handle advocacy as required.
  • Oversee proactive case progress, delegation of tasks to support staff, and system maintenance from start to resolution.
  • Comply with file management policies and the SRA Standards & Regulations.

  • Demonstrate cost-efficiency with strong commercial awareness.
  • Ensure profitability, meet financial targets, and avoid billing delays.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Core Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in civil litigation claims handling or as a legal File Handler / Solicitor (ILEXQualified / LPC certified).
  • Knowledge of insurance litigation practice, indemnity principles, and court processes.
  • Essential familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
  • Proficiency in advocacy, client care, and process adherence.

Desirable Experience

  • Formal qualification as a solicitor or CILEX Legal Executive* with relevant practice rights.
  • Handling linked/structured/organised fraud cases.
  • Pre-litigation and litigation case experience specifically in RTA claims.
