Job: NDC Designer

Job Description:

  • To take responsibility of packaging development projects for major customers. This will include liaison with various Regional Saica teams to ensure all projects are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner. This will include proactive projects in line with the business objectives. Support will be provided by other members of the NDC team. Travel to both Saica Regional sites & customers will be required.
  • Develop project briefs through close interaction with the NDC team and Saica account management team
  • Help build customer relationships by demonstrating technical knowledge & creative flair
  • Create new concepts to meet packaging briefs by utilising the full capability of the Saica Design Network
  • Fully utilise the presentation tools and systems available to maximise the positive impact the new concepts will make with customers
  • Harmonise both structural design and graphics images through the development process
  • Consider the required pack performance characteristic and conduct the necessary laboratory tests or SperT calculations to validate
  • Be able to visualise and sketch initial ideas in a workshop environment
  • Through the ongoing development process gain a better knowledge of Saica’s manufacturing capabilities
  • Ability to gain an insight into design trends across different market segments to allow proactive approaches to customers
  • Prepare presentation material and deliver to customer/colleagues (with support if required)
  • Support and help train new members of the NDC team
  • Produce reports & documentations required by both customers and internally for KPI proposes
  • Give confidence to Saica colleagues & customers in the professional management of projects
  • Gain full understanding of all Saica Design Tools and presentation software
  • Any other duties as reasonably assigned
