Job Overview
This is a very exciting opportunity for you to come and work in Camden MOSAIC, an innovative multidisciplinary service for children and young people aged 0-18 with a disability. You will be a qualified clinician such as a Speech and Language Therapist, CAMHS clinician, Occupational Therapist with experience of working in neurodevelopmental disorders pathways. You will work in the Camden MOSAIC service coordinating and carrying out the assessments of children and young people with suspected neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD, and other related aspects of the MOSAIC service as required. Specifically, these roles, which are the result of new investment, will support enhance the capacity of the service to deliver diagnostic assessments. We are looking for motivated and skilled people to support us in this rewarding work, which will lead to significantly reduced wait times and a better experience for children, young people and their families.
Main Duties of the Job
- To provide specialist clinical support as part of the multidisciplinary Camden MOSAIC Services, primarily within Camden Child Development team (CDT) and /or Social Communication Assessment Service (SCAS).
- To provide a highly specialist service to children / young people who may have neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on diagnostic assessment.
- To support in the development of training packages to school staff / parents / other professionals, in order for them to identify concerns regarding the child /young persons needs and implement therapy advice effectively.
- To prioritise the safeguarding of vulnerable children / young people at all times
- To support the service to achieve Key Performance Indicators, maintaining Target Activity Levels and demonstrating impact re quality and outcomes.
- To contribute to quality governance, audits and projects for the team/service
- To be responsible for the supervision of line management of identified team members as required.
- To support the Clinical Coordinator of Speech and Language Therapy in Camden MOSAIC with service development

MOSAIC is a multidisciplinary organisation based at Kentish Town Health Centre, supporting children and young people aged 0-18 with a disability, and their families. The service includes the Child Development Team (CDT), Social and Communication Assessment Service (SCAS), Single Point of Referral (SPOR), delivery of post-diagnostic parent programmes, a Feeding Clinic, the Down Syndrome Pathway and the Sleep Service.

Person Specification
Education And Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Recognised professional degree qualification such as Speech and Language Therapy or Occupational Therapy or equivalent (minimum of 2:2 or equivalent)
- Registered member of an appropriate regulatory body such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Desirable Criteria
- Honours degree or equivalent
- Some additional training relevant to the post
- Attendance at relevant special interest group/ clinical excellence group
- Registered member of appropriate professional body such as the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists or British Psychological Society.

Previous Experience
Essential Criteria
- Appropriate experience of working in a professional role with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or ADHD.
- Appropriate experience of working as part of MDT teams for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders
- Experience of working with children and young people with physical, learning and multi-sensory needs
- Experience of delivering a range of training
- Experience of supervising students
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of leading appraisals and supervision for less experienced/junior staff
- Experience of working with children with Autism and/or ADHD
- Experience of working across agencies (health, social care, education)
- Experience of contributing to projects to improve/develop services
Skills and Knowledge
Essential Criteria
- Specialist knowledge of assessment tools, and experience of using them relevant to profession / specialist area
- Specialist knowledge of national policies and procedures (relevant to specialist area).
- Specialist knowledge of a range of appropriate therapy approaches and experience of using them.
- Sound knowledge of the principles of clinical governance including patient safety, quality, clinical audit and patient experience
- Good knowledge of the roles of other professionals across agencies
- Good knowledge of standards of record keeping.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of using SystmOne or another similar electronic records system
- Experience of contributing to clinical audits
- Trained in The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, including the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs),
Attitudes, Aptitudes, and Personal Characteristics
