Rotation 14 days on 14 days off shift

Main Purpose The NDT Supervisor – (Black Hat) is responsible for organising the delivery of NDT works in accordance with company procedures. Ensuring safe and efficient work activities and providing quality results in a timely manner, while following and complying with applicable company, customer and site processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Effective planning, organisation and supervision of NDT activities. Ensuring work is carried out in a timely, safe and efficient manner to meet deadlines and changing priorities as they occur
  • Conduct pre job walk-downs, as appropriate, of areas planned for NDT works
  • Assign appropriate personnel and equipment resources to meet productivity demands
  • Liaise with Material Coordinators regarding the assignment and deployment of equipment and materials
  • Ensure equipment function tests and area checks are carried out and that NDT work is safe to proceed
  • Attend Daily Radiography Teams Meetings and ensure opposite shift supervision is fully appraised of discussions and planning
  • Organise permits to work and assists in the development of work authorisations
  • Organise and ensure safe working practices during NDT works, including barriers/signage and PPE
  • Liaise with customer and contractor’s area supervision to ensure NDT works do not impinge on SimOps activities or vice versa and NDT is able to proceed safely
  • Report all near hits/first aid cases/accidents/incidents within two hours using the First Alert Form
  • Write specific NDT techniques in accordance with procedural, Code and Specification requirements
  • Provide technical support to onsite personnel ensuring efficient delivery of NDT work scopes
  • Carry out and/or approve Point of Work Risk Assessments and Daily Activity Briefings
  • Complete observation reporting tools and encourage NDT team members to do the same
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by site and project managers.
  • Ensure full and appropriate handover information is available to opposite shift supervision
  • Assist with development of look-ahead plans for NDT activities and ongoing development of NORMS
  • Support the site manager and project engineer
  • Support in the production of RAMS
  • Assist with performance monitoring and auditing of NDT team members

  • Minimum of PCN Level 2 MPI and DPI, Level 3 preferred
  • SMSTS and ILM desired but not essential
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solver
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to a deadline
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
