Quality Control NDT Technician

Location: Glasgow

Type: Contract

Role Overview

The role focuses on ensuring that manufactured, purchased, assembled, and serviced products meet quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements through inspection, verification, and non-destructive testing (NDT) activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality control inspections and product verification against drawings, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Perform and support NDT activities and ensure compliance with quality standards and processes.
  • Manage non-conformance reporting (NCRs) and support investigations into quality issues.
  • Produce quality documentation, including inspection reports, hydrotest certificates, and NDT reports.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and the development of quality procedures.
  • Work closely with internal departments and occasionally visit customer, vendor, or sister sites.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • EN ISO 9712 (PCN) Level 2 certification in at least three NDT disciplines, such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI), Liquid Penetrant Testing (DPI), Radiography (RT), or Visual Testing (VT).
  • Strong knowledge of quality control and NDT techniques.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with standards such as ISO 9001, ASME, EN ISO 9712, and related quality systems is desirable.
  • A valid right to work in the UK and the ability to obtain security clearance.

This is a specialist NDT/Quality role suited to candidates from manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defence, nuclear, energy, or flow-control environments who hold multiple PCN Level 2 certifications and have strong inspection and quality assurance experience.
