About the Business Unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview of the Role
Are you an experienced NEC Supervisor or Clerk of Works ready to be part of the successful delivery of complex, high-profile infrastructure projects? Do you want to play a key role in delivering programmes that keep people, goods, and economies moving? Join our Gateway Infrastructure team within our Aviation & Ports Division as an NEC Supervisor and help shape the future of some of the UK's most critical transport hubs.
From major airport expansions and airfield infrastructure upgrades to innovative port developments and maritime facilities, you'll be responsible for monitoring and reporting Contractor quality management and assurance under NEC contracts, ensuring successful outcomes for our clients while maintaining collaborative and proactive stakeholder relationships.
As NEC ECC Supervisor, you will work collaboratively with the Client, Project Manager, and Contractor to ensure the construction activities are delivered to highest quality and safety standards; whilst providing efficient, sustainable, and best value solutions in line with industry best practice and innovation.
The role of an NEC Supervisor is to monitor the works, witness any testing, check compliance with the Scope and ensure that all works are carried out in line with the quality management plan. This is especially important in today’s fast paced construction market as recent high-profile cases will attest, where a lack of inspection during construction has caused major issues.
You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team where your knowledge of industry standards and methods of compliance will be supported by a wide range of subject matter experts in our multi-disciplinary project teams. Leadership, pragmatism, and a collaborative mindset in accordance with NEC principles will be crucial to your role engaging with Contractors, Clients, and other parties within the contract delivery to embed a culture of best practice in construction delivery throughout the team.
Join our Gateway Infrastructure team and contribute to the delivery of industry-leading infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. As a team we both lead and support the delivery of projects ranging from airport terminals, airside infrastructure, and landside developments to port terminals, marine infrastructure, and associated energy infrastructure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
