Job Description
Are you passionate about making a difference, community engagement, and improving Neighbourhoods?
We're looking for a part-time Neighbourhood Coordinator to join our Housing Management team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in our communities while working a part-time schedule of full days on Wednesday and Thursday, and a half day on Friday, finishing at 12.30pm.
It's a great opportunity for someone passionate about supporting communities, building positive relationships, and delivering excellent neighbourhood services.

Role Responsibilities
As a Neighbourhood Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting customers with their tenancies, promoting sustainable communities, and helping to create neighbourhoods where people thrive. You'll manage an allocated area within Sunderland, working closely with customers and local partners to make a real difference every day.
- Allocate homes fairly and transparently, helping people access accommodation that meets their needs.
- Manage a designated neighbourhood, supporting sustainable communities where people want to live.
- Deliver effective tenancy management, including estate management and anti-social behaviour casework.
- Support customers to sustain their tenancies, maximise their income, and manage rent payments.
- Build strong relationships with customers, community groups, and partner organisations to improve local neighbourhoods.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve complex housing and customer issues.
- Encourage and support customer feedback in line with Gentoo’s complaints policy.
- Partner with the Customer Voice team to increase customer involvement and influence service improvement.
- Treat customers with respect, compassion, and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Take ownership of performance targets and contribute positively to team success.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, statutory, and organisational requirements.
Requirements
- A full UK driving licence is essential, and access to a vehicle is highly desirable. Business mileage will be reimbursed.
- Strong knowledge of housing management, including relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and Tenant Satisfaction Measures.
- A good understanding of the challenges facing social housing customers and local communities.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to travel across locations and work from any Gentoo office or remote location as required.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, mediation, and active listening skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with customers, colleagues, and partner organisations.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and business systems, with the ability to manage workloads, interpret information, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
