Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The Neonatal intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University Hospital Southampton has recently undergone an expansion, so it is an exciting time to join the team. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic person who embraces change and welcomes new opportunities.

You will work as part of a team looking after the Wessex Region's most complex neonates and will be supported to do this by working alongside a highly skilled team whilst working collaboratively with families encompassing Family Integrated Care.

UHS NICU is a cardiac and surgical centre which takes referrals from across the Wessex Region and works collaboratively with regional maternity services to ensure NHS England's 'Better Births' agenda is adhered to.

We are fortunate to have many exciting teams within NICU including the regional transport service (SONET), family support and psychology team, surgical specialist nurses amongst many other expert sub teams. This ensures the bedside nurses are well supported to be able to facilitate the best patient care to our vulnerable neonatal.

You will work within the ITU environment to deliver high quality family centred patient care. Part of the role will include line management and you will be allocated a team to support and complete appraisals. There will be a robust orientation and induction programme for external candidates.
