Band 7 Neonatal Specialty Clinical Educator

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Neonatal Specialty Clinical Educator to join our Neonatal and Special Care Baby unit. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse who can demonstrate the ability to lead, deliver training and motivate staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the education, training and professional development of the multidisciplinary team within the Special Care Baby Unit.
  • Deliver induction, preceptorship, competency assessment and ongoing clinical education for all staff.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and support the implementation of national standards, guidelines and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate simulation, bedside teaching and clinical skills training to maintain safe, high-quality neonatal care.
  • Monitor mandatory and specialist training compliance, maintaining accurate education records.
  • Support staff through mentorship, clinical supervision and professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with the neonatal network, maternity services and practice development teams to enhance learning and service delivery.
  • Act as a clinical role model, fostering a positive learning culture and ensuring the delivery of safe, family-centred care.
