Job Summary
We are a dedicated and cohesive neonatal AHP team delivering high-quality, evidence-based developmental care for babies and their families. Recent investment offers an exciting opportunity to expand our workforce and strengthen AHP provision within neonatal services across St James's University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. As we progress through a period of transformation, we are enhancing developmental pathways, improving outcomes and embedding collaborative, family-centred practice. This is an exciting time to join our fantastic team and be part of meaningful service improvement.
We at Leeds Children's have received substantive funding provided by NHS England to enhance our neonatal and neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy service. The successful candidates will be joining an established team of experienced physiotherapists covering the Leeds Neonatal Units and Neurodevelopmental follow up within outpatient and clinic settings, providing highly specialised care to support the management of high-risk babies from preterm to 2 years.
We Are Looking For Physiotherapists With
- Significant post registration experience of at least 5 years within Paediatric physiotherapy.
- Broad experience within the acute paediatric settings.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of specialist neonatal physiotherapy support within the model of Family Integrated Care to infants and families across both Neonatal Units within Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Our Neonatal Unit at Leeds General Infirmary is a busy level three unit, including surgical, cardiac and neurological specialties. Currently the neonatal Unit at St James is a level one unit.
The role will use highly specialist skills to manage their own complex caseload, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. They will be responsible for providing advanced neonatal physiotherapy assessment, advice and interventions with babies who are most at risk of developmental issues in the future, and to support the neonatal unit with promoting and delivering family integrated developmental care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
