Technical Project Manager
Permanent | Full-Time | Bracknell & On-Site
Take complex live productions from an idea to on-air delivery, NEP UK is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our team. This is a role for someone who knows outside broadcast and enjoys making complex productions happen.
You might already be an established Technical Project Manager looking for greater variety, scale, and technical challenge, or you may have built your career within OB operations or engineering and be ready to use that knowledge, alongside exceptional planning and organizational skills, in a different way. Either way, you'll be at the heart of planning and delivering some of NEP UK's most exciting live productions.
The Role
From a single outside broadcast to complex, multi-venue and host broadcast operations, you'll take a client requirement and turn it into a deliverable technical plan.
You'll work across Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to bring together the people, facilities, equipment, and technology needed to deliver each project successfully.
You'll have real ownership, understanding what the client needs, developing the technical solution, building the plan, and managing the budget, coordinating resources, and ultimately seeing the project through to successful delivery on site.
Projects vary enormously, so this isn't a role where every week looks the same.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own projects from brief to delivery – Understand the client's requirements and with fellow engineering expertise you'll develop the technical approach and build a clear plan covering equipment, people, facilities, timelines, logistics, and budget.
- Bring the technical solution together – Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and specialist teams to design practical broadcast solutions, producing the plans, equipment requirements, and documentation needed to make them happen.
- Be a trusted point of contact – Build strong relationships with internal teams and clients, keeping everyone aligned throughout the project and taking ownership on location when requirements or circumstances change.
- Deliver commercially as well as technically – Work collaboratively with Commercial colleagues to prepare quotations and own budgets, maintain oversight of project costs, and look for smarter ways to deliver without compromising quality, safety, or the client experience.

What You'll Bring
We're interested in the experience you've built and how you apply it, rather than looking for one particular career path.
- Strong outside broadcast knowledge – Gained through technical project management / leadership, engineering, operations, or another hands-on broadcast role, with a good understanding of how live productions come together.
- Exceptional planning skills – You'll be comfortable managing multiple moving parts, anticipating what comes next, and turning complex requirements into organized, workable plans.
- Confidence with people and decisions – You'll communicate well with clients and technical teams, remain calm when things change, and be comfortable taking ownership and making decisions when needed.
- Commercial and technical awareness – You'll understand the importance of budgets, resources, and efficient delivery alongside the technical requirements of a production. Experience with technical drawings, CAD, or system design tools would be useful, but isn't essential.

Coming from an OB Background?
You don't necessarily need to have been a Technical Project Manager before. If you've developed strong technical knowledge through engineering, operations, or another hands-on OB role, and you're naturally the person who plans ahead, connects the dots, and keeps things moving, this could be a great next career challenge.
We'll support you in developing the project management and commercial aspects of the role while you bring the industry knowledge and practical understanding that are much harder to teach.
