Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Neurodiversity Employment Support & Training Instructor to join the team based at HMP Liverpool.
The NEST project is a collaboration between Making Space, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside, and the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership. The aim of NEST is to improve outcomes for neurodivergent individuals in custody by strengthening self-awareness, developing coping strategies, and providing structured interventions and pathways to appropriate services.
Salary: £14.50 per hour
Hours: 20 weekly
Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2027

Responsibilities
To deliver neurodiversity-informed support to individuals with neurodivergent or neurodevelopmental needs, focusing on wellbeing, independence, and self-advocacy.

Key responsibilities include:
- Utilising a suite of programmes, tools, resources, and materials to support neurodivergent individuals
- Develop and deliver NEST interventions
- To develop and foster a high-performance ethos that delivers an efficient service and exceptional levels of communication
- Build and maintain effective relationships with statutory, voluntary, and community sector organisations
- Input relevant information into HMPPS IT systems accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications
- A recognised Neurodiversity/Psychology qualification is essential for this role.
- Applicants must also demonstrate experience in the delivery of neurodiversity, mental health, and/or wellbeing projects, together with proven experience of working with vulnerable client groups.
