About The Role
Third Nexus Group Limited is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Developer to join their team in Birmingham. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with extensive experience in enterprise application development, particularly using ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework, and SQL Server. The Senior Application Developer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing enterprise applications, focusing on legacy systems, and developing new features to improve functionality and performance. The position operates on a hybrid work model, providing flexibility for remote work while maintaining close collaboration with the development, infrastructure, and support teams. This is a fixed-term contract role with an attractive salary package of up to £85,000 per annum, offering a chance to work on challenging projects within a supportive and innovative environment.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with proven experience in ASP.NET MVC and the .NET Framework. A solid understanding of SQL Server and database management is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in application development, with a demonstrated ability to work on legacy systems and modernize applications. Proficiency in front-end technologies such as jQuery and Razor Pages is required. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are critical for success in this role. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is advantageous.
Responsibilities
The Senior Application Developer will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and improving existing enterprise applications
- Ensuring their stability, security, and performance
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Implementing new features
- Optimizing code for efficiency
- Working closely with infrastructure and support teams
- Ensuring seamless deployment and operation of applications
- Contributing to the modernization of legacy systems
- Refactoring code
- Integrating new functionalities as required
- Participating in the full software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering and design to testing and deployment
- Mentoring junior developers
- Sharing best practices
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team
