About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer to join our dynamic team in North London. This role focuses on back-end development, API creation, and integration within our financial software solutions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend systems that support our innovative software offerings. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including SAP consultants, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers to ensure seamless system integration and optimal performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects that impact major retail and media brands, with a focus on enhancing system scalability, security, and efficiency. Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on API creation and database management.
- Proven expertise in.NET technologies, particularly C# and VB.NET.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL Server, including query optimization, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
- Familiarity with RESTful API development, error handling, logging, and monitoring.
- Experience with Windows Forms, version control systems like Git, and agile methodologies.
- Solid understanding of cloud services, particularly Azure DevOps pipelines and Azure hosting options.
- Familiarity with SAP Business One or similar accounting systems, and experience integrating backend tables via APIs.
Responsibilities
- API Development: Build, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs in VB.NET and C#, ensuring seamless integration with SQL Server and SAP Business One backend tables.
- Database Management: Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and design indexing strategies to manage large datasets effectively.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance API and database performance, addressing bottlenecks to improve scalability and responsiveness.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs, database schemas, and backend infrastructure to facilitate maintenance and future development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with SAP consultants, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers to ensure smooth system integration and deployment.
- Code Quality: Conduct thorough code reviews, debugging, and error handling to uphold system reliability and security standards.
- Best Practices: Stay updated on the latest API design standards, database performance tuning techniques, and cloud integration trends to continuously improve development processes.
