Avanti is a forward-thinking, technology-driven software business committed to delivering innovative solutions that empower its clients and streamline business operations. The company has established a strong reputation for excellence in the industry, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth. Based near Heathrow Airport, Avanti benefits from a strategic location that supports its dynamic and expanding operations. The organization is currently investing heavily in its core engineering platform, following a recent acquisition, to enhance its capabilities and maintain its competitive edge in the market.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior C#/.NET Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of a large, business-critical WinForms platform that has recently been migrated from.NET Framework to.NET 8. Your primary focus will be on evolving and modernizing this existing application by applying contemporary.NET engineering practices, which include improving maintainability, automation, and testing processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer with a strong background in WinForms and modern.NET technologies who is passionate about software modernization and technical leadership.
You will work closely with senior leadership, including the CTO and Head of Engineering, as well as the original software author, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the platform. Your insights and technical expertise will drive the next phase of its evolution, which includes integrating APIs, cloud services, and web technologies. During your initial onboarding, you will spend 1-2 weeks onsite for knowledge transfer before transitioning to a mostly remote working pattern, with occasional visits to the office every 1-2 months.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
