About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior.NET Developer (C#, ASP.NET Core) to join our team in Oxfordshire. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working remotely with just one day per week in the office, making it ideal for professionals seeking a balanced work environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of an established platform that manages the daily operations of multiple independent businesses within a larger group. As the platform expands to accommodate additional businesses over the coming years, this role will grow in scope and responsibility.
The Senior Developer will be responsible for leading the development and enhancement of the platform, working closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. You will oversee a full-stack development team, reviewing their work, guiding their growth, and contributing directly to the codebase. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of a critical system while maintaining hands-on involvement in development activities. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in C# development, with a proven track record of leading or managing development teams. You should have strong expertise in ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework, along with a solid understanding of SQL Server, including schema design and query optimization. Front-end skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery are essential, along with experience working with REST APIs. Familiarity with Git within an agile development environment is required. Additional skills in domain-driven design, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, handling large datasets, and BI integrations will be considered advantageous. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience and a demonstrable portfolio of work are equally valued.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of platform development, including designing, coding, testing, and deploying new features and improvements. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, ensuring the platform evolves in line with operational needs. Leading a full-stack development team, you will review code, provide mentorship, and foster best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. You will also work on optimizing database performance, designing scalable schemas, and implementing query tuning strategies to handle large datasets efficiently.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines, implementing automated testing frameworks, and ensuring the platform's security and reliability. You will participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to technical documentation, and support the deployment and troubleshooting processes. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to strategic planning for the platform’s future development and help foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
