About The Role

We are seeking a skilled .NET Developer with expertise in C#, APIs, and related technologies to join our expanding team. This role is pivotal in developing, enhancing, and supporting our customer-facing, operational, and internal systems. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, product managers, analysts, and external suppliers, to deliver high-quality, reliable software solutions. The role involves working on a mix of new development projects, system improvements, and live application support within a hybrid environment that includes both legacy and modern systems.

The ideal candidate will be pragmatic, collaborative, and comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle. They will contribute to technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring solutions are secure, maintainable, and aligned with best practices. Additionally, this role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development, working with advanced tools like Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines to support structured software delivery.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a strong background in software development using C# and the.NET framework, with proven experience in building and supporting APIs and web services. A solid understanding of ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core is essential, alongside experience with SQL Server, including database design and querying. Familiarity with version control tools such as Git, and experience with Azure DevOps or similar platforms for work tracking, build, and deployment processes are required. Candidates should have prior experience working within a structured software development environment, troubleshooting live applications, and supporting production systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are also vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, test, and support .NET-based applications, APIs, and integrations to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and third-party vendors to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain system integrations between internal platforms and external services or suppliers.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of existing applications, including troubleshooting defects, performance issues, and handling production incidents.
  • Contribute to technical design decisions, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and adhere to best engineering practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established standards for version control, testing, and deployment.
  • Participate in code reviews, peer support, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
  • Assist with release activities, deployment processes, and post-release support to ensure smooth software delivery.
  • Contribute to enhancing development practices, documentation, and technical resilience to minimize dependency on individual team members.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment workflows.
  • Support a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Head of IT, contributing to the overall success of the IT team.
  • Engage in personal development activities and encourage growth among team members to foster a learning culture.
