About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior.Net Developer to join our dedicated backend development team based in North London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within an established financial software house, supporting some of the leading brands in retail and media sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing RESTful APIs, managing complex database systems, and ensuring seamless integration with SAP Business One. This position requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of backend technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. The role is fully office-based, providing an environment conducive to innovation, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record in building scalable and secure APIs. Essential qualifications include expertise in .NET framework, particularly C# and VB.Net, along with extensive experience working with SQL Server databases. Familiarity with RESTful API design principles, error handling, and API security best practices is required. Candidates should have experience with version control systems like Git, and agile development methodologies. Knowledge of Windows Forms, Azure DevOps, Swagger, and SAP Business One integration will be advantageous. A strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are also essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- API Development: Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs in VB.NET and C#, ensuring robust integration with SQL Server and SAP Business One backend tables.
- Database Management: Develop optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies to handle large datasets efficiently and improve system performance.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance API responsiveness, database query execution, and overall application scalability to meet business demands.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs, database schemas, and backend infrastructure to facilitate future development and maintenance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with SAP consultants, frontend developers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless system integration and deployment.
- Code Quality: Conduct code reviews, debugging, and error handling to uphold high standards of system reliability and maintainability.
- Best Practices: Stay updated with industry standards for API design, database performance tuning, and cloud infrastructure management, applying these to ongoing projects.
