About The Role

We are seeking an experienced .NET Software Developer to join our Commodities Trading team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a senior developer to apply their technical expertise in a fast-paced trading environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining trading systems that support the full trade lifecycle. You will work closely with traders, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver robust solutions that improve trading efficiency and accuracy.

The role requires a deep understanding of C# programming and commodities trading processes. You will be involved in designing scalable and high-performance applications, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing new features aligned with business needs. The position is based in Central London with a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility to balance on-site collaboration with remote work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer or similar role, specifically in commodities trading or financial services.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and.NET framework.
  • Good understanding of trading lifecycle, market data, and related financial instruments.
  • Experience with SQL databases and data management.
  • Knowledge of trading platforms, APIs, and integration techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with traders, technical teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality trading applications using C# and.NET technologies.
  • Collaborate with traders and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement best practices for coding, security, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on trading activities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to commodities trading and software development.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the development team and broader organization.
