About The Role

The Senior.Net Developer position at MCS Group offers an exciting opportunity to work within a global technology firm that specializes in mission-critical trading systems. This role is based in Belfast with a hybrid working model, providing a balance between remote work and office collaboration. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance systems that impact market access on a worldwide scale. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Solution Architects and QA Engineers, to deliver robust solutions that meet evolving business needs. Mentoring junior developers and leading architectural discussions will be key components of your responsibilities, ensuring best practices in software engineering are upheld across projects.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering, with proven experience in developing complex systems. You should have extensive hands-on expertise in C# (.NET Core) and modern JavaScript frameworks, demonstrating your ability to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational databases is essential, along with familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS. A collaborative mindset and experience working within Agile teams are highly valued, as they facilitate effective communication and project delivery. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with professional certifications related to cloud platforms or software development best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining complex trading systems using C# (.NET Core)
  • Building cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services to ensure scalability and resilience
  • Collaboration with Solution Architects and QA Engineers in delivering high-quality, testable software
  • Mentoring junior team members and conducting code reviews
  • Promoting best engineering practices across the team
  • Contributing to architectural discussions, designing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing automation strategies
  • Staying updated with the latest industry trends and continuously improving system performance and security
