The Role

As a .NET Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise solutions that align with strategic business objectives. You will provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, guiding teams in the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing applications. This role offers the opportunity to shape technical direction, mentor engineering teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of mission-critical platforms within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of .NET applications, REST APIs, and microservices that support enterprise business platforms.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, effort estimation, technical planning, and solution design activities.
  • Oversee all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Analyse complex business and technical challenges and provide effective, scalable solutions.
  • Define and implement application architecture, security controls, and development standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, technology teams, and business users to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to developers and analysts.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for application development technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure development processes, governance standards, and operational procedures are followed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance code quality, performance, reliability, and delivery efficiency.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence while managing competing priorities and delivery commitments.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in application development, software engineering, or systems analysis roles.
  • Strong proficiency in .NET Core and C# development.
  • Strong experience with T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (2019/2022).
  • Experience developing REST APIs, WebSockets, and event-driven solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with React.js for front-end development.
  • Experience with Kafka (Kafka as a Service).
  • Experience working with OpenShift, Docker, and containerised environments.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience using source control and development tools including GitHub, Bitbucket, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Extensive experience in system analysis, application design, development, and support.
  • Proven experience leading successful projects and acting as a technical SME.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience designing and building robust.NET applications and APIs that support mission-critical enterprise platforms.
  • Commitment to improving code quality, performance, reliability, and engineering best practices.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience leading development teams as a Team Lead or Technical Lead.
  • Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures at scale.
  • Exposure to cloud-native deployment and container orchestration environments.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery practices.
  • Experience within Banking, Financial Services, or other regulated industries.
