About The Role

We are seeking a skilled VB.NET Web Developer to join our dedicated development team. In this role, you will work closely with the core team on HotLizard's existing products and upcoming projects, focusing on developing new features, enhancing user experience, and advancing our platform through innovative solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to write clean, efficient, and scalable code, ensuring our products remain competitive and meet the evolving needs of our clients. The environment encourages autonomy and minimizes unnecessary bureaucracy, allowing you to concentrate fully on software development. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of projects, including supporting the acceleration of our sports-related product suite, and play a vital role in shaping the future of our digital offerings.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of professional experience working with VB.NET. A strong understanding of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL is essential. Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and excellent communication skills. A solid work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively within a team are critical. Familiarity with web development technologies and frameworks is desirable, but not mandatory, as training and growth opportunities are available for motivated individuals eager to expand their skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain web applications using VB.NET in accordance with project specifications and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
  • Optimize existing codebases for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
  • Support the integration of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like ASP.NET MVC and Web Forms.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
