Are you passionate about sustainability and skilled at securing grant funding? Join the Diocese of York and help churches and schools access the funding they need to achieve ambitious net zero carbon goals.
The Diocese of York serves North and East Yorkshire through nearly 600 churches, 125 schools and 442 parishes. As part of our Living Christ's Story strategy and the Church of England's commitment to reach net zero carbon by 2030, we're looking for a proactive and relationship-focused Net Zero Carbon Funding Enabler.
About The Role
Working closely with our Net Zero Carbon Programme Lead, Parish Net Zero Support Officer and Regional Net Zero Fundraiser, you will:
- Identify and promote suitable grant funding opportunities for churches and schools.
- Support parishes and schools to become funding-ready and develop strong project proposals.
- Guide applicants through the entire grant process, from eligibility checks to reporting requirements.
- Deliver workshops and resources to build confidence in funding and net zero projects.
- Develop strong relationships with clergy, volunteers, school leaders and other stakeholders.
- Maintain funding records, track outcomes and contribute to diocesan and national reporting.

About You
You will have:
- A proven track record of securing grant funding for energy efficiency, carbon reduction or similar capital projects.
- Experience supporting applicants through grant application and reporting processes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage multiple funding opportunities and provide clear, practical guidance.
- A commitment to the Church of England's net zero carbon mission.
Experience of working with heritage buildings, schools, faith organisations or listed properties would be an advantage.
