Leicester Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic, committed and suitably qualified Netball Coach to join our team on a self-employed basis during the Spring term.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced netball coach to work with our pupils, developing their technical ability, tactical understanding and overall performance, while creating a positive, inclusive and enjoyable sporting environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching a Netball squad and supporting pupils to reach their full potential. You will deliver high-quality coaching sessions that develop technique, confidence and performance, while encouraging pupils to enjoy their sport and develop a lifelong passion for netball.
- Regularly assess and monitor individual pupil progress, providing appropriate feedback and reporting progress to the Head of Netball.
- Use observations and assessments to inform future coaching and ensure that pupils are continually challenged and supported in their development.
- Maintain a positive and well-disciplined environment during every coaching session.
- Promote the values of fair play, teamwork, healthy competition and respect for rules, officials, teammates and opposition.
- Keep up to date with developments within netball and ensure that current best practice is reflected in your coaching.
- Ensure that the School's Health & Safety and safeguarding policies are followed and that pupils understand their responsibilities in relation to safety during netball activities.
- Accompany teams to and from fixtures, umpiring matches to a good standard and ensuring that visiting teams and supporters receive a warm welcome and appropriate hospitality.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that team kit and equipment is well cared for and meets appropriate Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an England Netball Level 1 or Level 2 coaching qualification.
- Proven track record of successful netball coaching.
- Able to umpire to a good standard, ideally with an England Netball officiating qualification or C Award umpiring qualification.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to build strong and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
- Adapt coaching to pupils of different abilities.
- Genuine commitment to helping every pupil develop and achieve their potential.
- Previous experience of coaching in a school or similar environment would be advantageous.
- A first aid qualification, or a willingness to undertake appropriate training, would also be desirable.
- A minibus driver qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
