Key Notes

Advanced spreadsheet capability plus SQL or Python and sound statistical judgement are the central requirements for this network-design role. You’ll identify intercity corridors, build probabilistic timetables, manage consultation and registration, and improve live routes using demand, occupancy and traffic data. The Edinburgh post pays £55,000–£75,000 plus share options and expects office attendance most days, alongside fieldwork across Ember’s network.

What You'll Work On

  • Research new intercity corridors through mapping, existing-service analysis, community engagement and field testing against electric-coach fleet and charging constraints.
  • Shape medium- and long-term network strategy with Ember’s founders, assessing how individual route choices affect the wider service network.
  • Design probabilistic timetables, complete council consultation and Traffic Commissioner registration, and distribute service information through digital and printed passenger channels.
  • Coordinate route readiness with operations and charging teams, defining driver, vehicle, rest-facility and energy requirements before launching new services.
  • Analyse booking, occupancy and traffic data in Ember’s internal tools to improve live routes and automate recurring network-planning work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
