Company Overview

Holafly is a high-growth scale-up revolutionizing global connectivity for travelers and businesses worldwide. By providing seamless travel eSIM solutions across 200+ destinations, Holafly empowers millions of users to stay connected instantly without roaming friction.

As traffic scales globally, maintaining an agile, high-capacity, and rock-solid core mobile network infrastructure is essential to our user experience.

Role Overview

We are seeking a high-performing Network Architecture Manager to lead the strategic evolution, capacity engineering, and resilient design of Holafly’s core telecom network architecture as we transition from vendor to increased control and ownership.

In this role, you will act as the key owner of Holafly’s core topology and end-to-end network performance. You will work in close partnership with our core network provider (our primary core network provider) to map out the current network footprint, identify capacity constraints, remediate performance pinch points, and enforce non-negotiable standards for network availability and fault tolerance.

Please note, this is not a people manager role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Core Network Strategy & Mapping

  • Audit & Topology Mapping: Deeply map and document Holafly’s current end-to-end core network layout, covering packet core components (PGW/UPF, SMF, MME/AMF), roaming interfaces (S8/N9, GRX/IPX transit), and routing paths.
  • Provider Collaboration (Core Network Provider): Serve as the primary technical point of contact and architectural authority with our core network provider. Align on technical roadmaps, platform upgrades, feature releases, and SLA/SLO enforcement for core network functions.

2. Capacity Planning & Pinch-Point Resolution

  • Constraint & Bottleneck Identification: Monitor traffic distribution, data throughput, signaling load, and latency metrics across global regions to proactively flag network pinch points and hardware/bandwidth limits.
  • Remediation & Performance Optimization: Architect and deploy technical fixes for identified capacity bottlenecks, optimizing packet processing, session setup times, and IP routing pathways across international nodes.
  • Predictive Capacity Modeling: Develop data-driven capacity forecasts based on subscriber growth, peak travel seasons, and dynamic regional demand surges.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

3. End-to-End Network Resilience & Fault Tolerance

  • High Availability Design: Implement geo-redundancy, active-active failover mechanisms, and disaster recovery strategies across all core network nodes and interconnects.
  • Quality of Service (QoS) & Routing: Optimize QoS profiles, APN configurations, and dynamic routing protocols (BGP/MPLS) to maintain high throughput and ultra-low latency for travelers across diverse host MNO networks.
  • Incident Analysis & Escalation: with Service management on root cause analysis (RCA) for high-severity core network outages or degradation events in coordination with our core network provider, implementing preventive architectural changes.

4. Technical Governance & Innovation

  • Vendor & Interconnect Management: Collaborate with wholesale IPX carriers, clearinghouses, core vendor and MNO partners to eliminate single points of failure (SPOFs) in roaming paths.
  • 3GPP Standards Evolution: Track advancements in 5G SA/NSA, eSIM profile management (eUICC/RSP), and Cloud-Native Core functions to continuously modernize Holafly’s architecture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Telecom Infrastructure Background: 6+ years of experience in mobile network architecture, core network engineering (EPC/5GC), or network strategy within an MNO, MVNO, or MVNE environment.
  • Core Network Mastery: Deep hands-on knowledge of 3GPP LTE/5G core architectures (MME, HSS, PGW, PCRF, AMF, UPF, SMF), roaming protocols (S6a, S8, GTP-C/U, Diameter, SIP), and IPX interconnects.
  • MVNE/Core Provider Operations: Demonstrated experience working closely with core platform vendors (cloud-native/virtualized MVNE platforms).
  • Network Protocol Expertise: Solid understanding of IP networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPsec, DNS, CGNAT) and packet analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Capacity Engineering: Proven track record of identifying network bottlenecks, executing capacity expansions, and designing resilient, highly available distributed systems.
  • Tooling & Analytics: Experience with network monitoring, observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), and traffic generation/testing suites.
  • Analytical Problem Solver: Excellent ability to drill down into complex network telemetry, trace signaling flows, and pin down obscure performance issues.
  • Effective Communicator: Able to translate high-level business growth goals into concrete technical requirements, and articulate complex architectural tradeoffs to senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaborator: High ability to build trust and drive execution across engineering, product teams, and external vendor partners without friction.
