We're building one of the UK's fastest-growing fibre networks, connecting communities across Scotland and beyond. As a Network Build Engineer, you'll be at the heart of that journey, playing a hands-on role in delivering, activating and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our customers connected.
What does a day look like?
- Installing and commissioning network equipment across data centres, street cabinets, POP sites and telephone exchanges.
- Connecting power supplies, UPS systems, fibre and copper cabling.
- Testing equipment and completing checks to make sure each site is ready for service.
- Keeping cabling neat, correctly labelled and fully documented.
- Updating diagrams, port maps, power audits and commissioning records.
- Responding to on-site faults, replacing hardware and completing post-repair checks.
- Working closely with our Network Engineering, NOC, Build Partners and Project Management teams to keep projects moving and sites ready for handover.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
