New Senior Leadership Roles in Secure Infrastructure

As part of the reshaping of the Secure Infrastructure capability, we are establishing three new senior leadership roles: a Capability Lead for each of the Network, End User Compute, and Core Infrastructure domains. These are new positions, open to internal and external candidates on the same basis.

About the Role

The Capability Lead is a senior technical leader, leading the Network domain, which covers Routing, Switching, Firewalling, Network Design and Performance, and the specialist platforms and monitoring tools that support secure network operations across government and defence clients. They are the single accountable leader for the domain. They own the technical direction, the engineering standards, and the people outcomes for the engineers within it. The Capability Lead is the senior technical authority for their domain.

The role combines technical leadership with direct people management. Technical credibility is essential, but the role is not designed for the deepest technical specialist in every discipline. The Capability Lead works through Principal Architects, Principal Engineers, and Technology Team Leads who hold the specialist depth. The Lead’s value is in setting direction, making sound technical judgements across the domain, and leading the people who deliver against it.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing senior technical leadership and strategic direction for the network domain, working through Principal Architects and Engineers to define standards and patterns.
  • Owning and maintaining technical standards, reference architectures, and approved patterns across multiple teams and client environments.
  • Leading and developing engineers within the capability, with full accountability for performance, progression, and overall people outcomes.
  • Representing the domain in Design Authority forums and contributing to cross-capability technical alignment.
  • Acting as the final point of technical escalation, making sound decisions where risk or differing expert views exist.
  • Leading recruitment for technical roles within the domain, defining requirements and assessing candidates for suitability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
