Network Consultant – Google Workspace Migration from Microsoft 365
Contract (Outside IR35)
Hybrid 1x per week in West London
Our client, a well-established organisation currently migrating from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace, is looking for an experienced Network Consultant to join their programme. This is a business-critical workstream: ensuring the network and firewall infrastructure supporting the migration is validated, configured and documented, and that network- and identity-dependent cutover activities (including mail routing) are not delayed by a lack of specialist expertise.

- Firewall management and configuration changes to support the migration
- Validation of existing network/firewall rules against migration requirements, remediating gaps or conflicts
- Identity-related network configuration (conditional access network locations, IP allow-listing)
- Mail routing cutover support, including DNS/MX record changes and mail flow validation
- Network security and compliance reviews
- Coordination with the internal Separation team on any overlapping network/firewall changes
- Support during migration testing (UAT) and go-live, diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues
- Documentation of network/firewall changes for audit and knowledge transfer
- Support for change freeze processes during cutover windows
- Broader network engineering support as required (routing, switching, VPN, load balancing, segmentation)

Requirements:
- Strong hands-on firewall management and network rule validation experience
- Experience with identity/network integration for cloud platforms (conditional access, IP allow-listing)
- DNS/MX and mail routing cutover experience
- Comfort working independently against outcomes, not hours
- Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder migration or separation programmes
