Network Deployment Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Network Deployment Engineer for a critical project involving the replacement of network hardware across 141 sites in Kent. The role entails implementing specified designs to upgrade existing network infrastructure. The position requires physical presence at each location to ensure successful hardware replacement and functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Client processes to remove 401 old physical Wireless Access Points (WAPs) and install 401 new WAPs, which are pre-delivered by the Client.
  • Move cable connections from designated switch ports to specified firewall ports as outlined by Client.
  • Liaise with Client network engineers to confirm completion of background changes.
  • Remove 44 old physical Wi-Fi switches and install their replacements, also pre-delivered by Client.
  • Test on-site PCs post-installation and secure end-user sign-off. Ensure old equipment is organised for later collection by Client.
  • Attend periodic checkpoint meetings with the Project Manager and Programme Support Office or Team Lead.
  • Promptly escalate any issues to the Team Lead Engineer.

Experience

  • Proven experience in network hardware deployment and replacement.
  • Familiarity with Wireless Access Points, Wi-Fi switches, firewalls, and LAN cabling.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical processes and design specifications.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with network engineers and project teams effectively.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment or on large-scale infrastructure projects is a plus.
