Network Deployment Engineer
Remote - Site Travel Required
We’re working with a growing technology business that is expanding its data centre infrastructure and is looking for a Network Deployment Engineer to take ownership of the network layer across new site deployments.
This is a highly hands-on role, working alongside a Senior Deployment Lead who will own the wider physical data centre build. You’ll have clear ownership of the network deployment, from switch installation and configuration through to external connectivity and firewall deployment.
You’ll also act as the key on-site contact for network operators, fibre providers and contractors.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the network infrastructure at each new data centre site is deployed, connected and ready for production.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Deploying and configuring network switches on-site as part of data centre builds
- Working directly with carriers, ISPs and fibre providers to establish external connectivity
- Owning relationships with network operators and fibre providers through to live circuit delivery
- Deploying and configuring firewalls as part of the site's network perimeter
- Acting as the primary on-site contact for network operators, fibre providers and network contractors
- Coordinating with the wider deployment and data centre operations teams to ensure the network layer is delivered alongside the physical build
- Troubleshooting and resolving network deployment issues on-site

We're looking for someone with genuine hands-on network deployment experience, rather than someone whose background is primarily network design or architecture.
Required experience:
- Hands-on data centre network deployment experience, including physically installing and configuring switches
- Experience working directly with carriers, ISPs, fibre operators or network providers to establish live connectivity
- Hands-on firewall deployment and configuration experience as part of a live infrastructure build
- Experience acting as the primary point of contact for external network operators or contractors
- Comfortable working on-site and taking ownership of network deployments from start to finish

Desirable:
- Experience within a hyperscale, neo-cloud, GPU cloud or large-scale data centre environment
- Field engineering experience with an ISP or fibre network operator, particularly around last-mile or site connectivity
- Experience within a colocation or enterprise data centre network operations environment
- Experience deploying network infrastructure across multiple data centre sites
