Senior Network Solution Design Engineer

Manchester | Hybrid – 3 days per week | £590 per day | 6-Month Rolling Contract

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Network Solution Design Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise environment, designing and delivering network solutions across data centre, private cloud and public cloud platforms.

This is a hands-on architecture and engineering role. You’ll take complex requirements, turn them into practical network designs, and then work with engineering teams to prototype, validate and help implement those solutions.

The role sits at the intersection of enterprise networking, hybrid cloud, Kubernetes and network automation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both architecture and technical delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design scalable, secure and resilient network architectures across data centre, private cloud and public cloud environments.
  • Develop and validate designs through labs, PoCs, prototypes and hands-on engineering.
  • Create and evolve network reference architectures, standards and reusable design patterns.
  • Build automation and Infrastructure as Code into network designs from the outset.
  • Design enterprise networking using routing, switching, segmentation, EVPN/VXLAN and high-availability principles.
  • Work closely with Cloud, Platform, Security, Application and Product teams to turn requirements into deliverable solutions.
  • Design connectivity between private infrastructure and hyperscale cloud environments.
  • Produce clear architecture and solution documentation and present designs through technical review forums.
  • Assess new networking, cloud and automation technologies and recommend where they can add value.
  • Consider scalability, security, resilience, performance and operational complexity when making design decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
