We operate a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, please only apply if you are comfortable with this arrangement.

About The Role
Join BT’s Government, Health and Policing team as a Customer Solutions Design Specialist, designing secure, end-to-end network solutions that support critical programmes and help keep the UK safe and secure. You’ll work with customers, technical specialists and technology partners to turn complex requirements into practical, high-quality solutions across multi-vendor network environments. This is an opportunity to provide technical leadership, build trusted customer relationships and share your expertise across a collaborative design and delivery community.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the end-to-end technical design of complex, bespoke network solutions, producing high-level and low-level designs from initial concept through to delivery.
- Partner with customers and stakeholders to understand their business and technical needs and translate them into secure, practical solutions.
- Deliver technical leadership across projects, working closely with Solution Architects, Operations, Security and other specialist teams.
- Drive design quality through peer reviews, technical governance and assurance, while developing statements of work, bills of materials and resource requirements.
- Support colleagues and operational teams by sharing your expertise, coaching and mentoring others, and providing day-to-day technical direction.

Essential Skills / Experience
- End-to-end network solution design: Strong experience designing enterprise, service provider or public-sector network solutions, including producing high-level and low-level designs from customer requirements.
- Network technology expertise: Practical knowledge and experience of Cisco and/or HPE Aruba LAN/WAN technologies, with the technical depth to lead complex solution designs.
- Technical leadership and stakeholder management: Ability to lead technical discussions and projects, communicate complex information clearly, and build trusted relationships with customers, colleagues and senior stakeholders.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Professional networking certification, such as Cisco CCNP or an HPE Aruba certification, or equivalent practical knowledge and experience.
- Experience working within secure government or similarly security-sensitive environments.
- Knowledge of network solutions that integrate or interface with AWS.
- Experience with wider multi-vendor technologies such as Juniper and Palo Alto.
- Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical guidance to other design or operational specialists.
