Network Security Engineer
We're currently supporting a leading organisation within the Utilities and Critical National Infrastructure sector in the search for a Network Security Engineer to join their expanding Technical Operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a highly secure enterprise network environment supporting critical services across the UK.
You'll work across a varied infrastructure estate covering Cisco networking, Fortinet security technologies and Azure cloud networking whilst contributing to major infrastructure projects, service improvements and security initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and supporting WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and firewall infrastructure
- Maintaining Cisco and Fortinet network environments
- Supporting Azure networking services
- Reviewing technical designs and ensuring security best practice
- Working closely with Cyber Security teams on vulnerability remediation
- Managing network performance, capacity and availability
- Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues
- Driving automation and operational improvements
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers
- Supporting critical infrastructure services within a secure environment

What We're Looking For
- Strong Network Engineering experience
- Cisco routing and switching expertise
- Experience with Cisco ACI and FMG
- Strong Fortinet skills including FortiGate environments
- Azure networking experience
- Knowledge of BGP, VPNs, VLANs, DNS and DHCP
- Experience of network security technologies and firewalls
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
- CCNA certification or equivalent
