Network Engineer / Technology Consultant
Location: Farnborough
Working Pattern: 5 days per week on site
Clearance: Active DV clearance
Salary: £55K-£75K
We are looking to add a DV Cleared Network Engineer/Technology Consultant to our team in Farnborough to deliver a secure network support service. You will be supporting complex network environments in highly regulated industries. You’ll act as the first point of contact for customer incidents, cover a breadth of networking technology stacks, and own cases from inception through to resolution.
This role would suit someone who enjoys network troubleshooting, communicates well with both technical and non-technical audiences, and wants to further develop their career in networking. You’ll work alongside an experienced team of network engineers at a growing IT consultancy.
The Role
- Provide network support, troubleshooting, and implementation support within Cisco networking environments.
- Triage and resolve cases raised by customers within defined SLAs.
- Build an understanding of each customer’s network environment to enable faster, more accurate fault diagnosis.
- Communicate regularly with customers to keep them updated on case progress.
- Follow escalation processes where appropriate, with clear and well-documented notes/updates.
- Maintain and improve knowledge articles, processes and procedures, and the tooling used to deliver the service.
- Identify recurring issues and feed them into problem management and service improvement.

Key Experience Required
- Active DV clearance.
- Able to work on site in Farnborough, 5 days per week.
- Strong Cisco networking skills, evidenced by CCNA/CCNP or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Good understanding of routing, switching and secure network environments.
- Experience in an IT service desk, network support or similar role.
- Familiarity with an ITSM tool such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
- Clear communicator with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with technologies from across the Cisco product portfolio.
- Experience in defence, government or other high-assurance, highly regulated environments.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise or managed service networks.
