About The Role

As a Network Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, deploying, and supporting global enterprise networks across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will be a valued member of the Infrastructure & Network Engineering team, working collaboratively with architecture, security, and cloud teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing connectivity aligned with regulatory frameworks.

In This Role, You Will

  • Operate and maintain global network infrastructure (WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and VPN) ensuring high availability, performance, and secure service delivery
  • Configure and standardize enterprise network components including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN services
  • Support multi-site connectivity across corporate offices, remote locations, and remote users, including troubleshooting, capacity planning, and optimization
  • Implement and optimize Quality of Service (QoS) to ensure performance for critical business applications
  • Define and enforce network security controls and standards to reduce cyber risk and prevent unauthorized access

Work model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in a Cognizant office in Glasgow

What You Need To Have To Be Considered

  • Strong experience managing enterprise networks across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud environments
  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco Catalyst 9000 series (9200, 9300, 9400) switching
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls including policy management and Panorama
  • Proven experience with network automation using Ansible
  • Solid understanding of network security frameworks (GDPR, Cyber Essentials, NIST SP 800-171) and implementation of security controls
  • Experience supporting hybrid and multi-cloud networking (AWS VPCs and Azure Virtual Networks)
  • Experience using monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Zabbix and Wireshark
  • CCNP certification (or equivalent)

  • Experience managing enterprise wireless networks in high-density environments
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 network optimization and SaaS connectivity
  • Experience supporting global, multi-site network environments
