A leading global asset manager is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to join its infrastructure team. This is a broad and varied role covering the design, build, operation, and automation of enterprise WAN, LAN, and voice networks across a global estate.
The successful candidate will work across core networking, campus and branch infrastructure, SD-WAN, voice platforms, and cloud connectivity. They will also play a key part in improving operational efficiency through automation, infrastructure-as-code, and modern DevOps practices.
What the role involves
- Design, deploy, support, and optimise enterprise WAN and LAN infrastructure across global offices and data centres.
- Work with routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS, and VPNs.
- Build and maintain SD-WAN, internet breakout, cloud connectivity, and secure remote-access solutions.
- Support enterprise voice and collaboration platforms, including SIP, unified communications, contact-centre technologies, and voice network design.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across network, security, voice, and application-delivery layers.
- Contribute to network architecture, capacity planning, resilience, and lifecycle-refresh projects.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks using Python, APIs, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tooling.
- Work with monitoring and observability platforms to improve visibility, alerting, and incident response.

- Participate in an on-call rotation and support business-critical systems where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
