Private Cloud Network Automation Engineer
About the company
We’re supporting an organisation building a new private cloud from the ground up. Its newly formed team is designing and operating an on-premise OpenStack platform, with automation built in from day one.
About the role
This is a chance to shape how networking works across a greenfield cloud platform. You’ll build the software and infrastructure as code that connects OpenStack networking services to the underlying data centre fabric, making network provisioning and changes repeatable, reliable and easy to manage.

- You’ll develop automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform and APIs
- Create CI/CD pipelines that test and validate network changes
- Connect workflows with tools such as IPAM, inventory and source control
- Help build observability and drift detection, working closely with compute, storage and Kubernetes engineers
What we need
You’ll bring a strong network engineering background and hands-on experience automating platforms such as Cisco NX-OS or Arista EOS. You should be comfortable with data centre networking concepts including BGP, EVPN, VXLAN and leaf-spine architecture, alongside Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, CI/CD and Linux.

- An understanding of OpenStack networking, particularly Neutron, OVN and ML2, is important
- Experience with HPC environments, NetBox, automated network testing or observability tools would be a bonus
