About the role

You will be part of the Network team, which is responsible for the operation, design, configuration, and implementation of the entire network infrastructure at SD Worx.

Customer centricity should be the top priority. The team works in a complex multidisciplinary infrastructure consisting of Cisco switches and routers, Checkpoint firewalls, and F5 load balancers.

Your responsibilities

  • Align with business and projects in terms of requests, (service) requests, and new services
  • Assess new applications based on architectural standards, policies, and regulations
  • Align designs with other teams in the technical engineering department
  • Perform a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major incidents in collaboration with senior engineers
  • Provide level 3 operational support on incidents, resolving complex network issues
  • Prepare (plan) network changes for approval and deployment by the CAB
  • Deploy network changes
  • Document solutions and ensure knowledge transfer within the team
  • Optimize the current environment
  • Maintain and support projects (e.g., data center projects)
  • Design and develop advanced features in a business context
  • Take the lead on new designs/features within the network team, with a focus on team and collaborative work

  • Develop and advise a large portfolio of external and internal clients with complex needs/contexts, and plan and execute actions to fully satisfy clients, including in the long term. Shine when things go wrong by focusing on the entire customer journey.
  • Develop and share expertise both within the company and the support units or the client organization, regardless of cultural and language barriers.

  • Ability to develop productive networks within and outside the SD Worx Group, with customers in the market and in the network of technical expertise. Be recognized as a reliable source of information/expertise, be solicited for your coaching expertise.
  • Ability to leverage extensive networks to influence, negotiate, or effectively mediate or coach to find a win-win solution for complex topics and with high-level stakeholders from the client's environment or the SD Worx Group.
  • Stimulate the open network environment for the sharing of expertise and knowledge, inspiring and coaching others to be part of and actively participate in them.

Your knowledge, technical skills, qualifications, and experience

  • 5 to 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in enterprise networks (multinational)
  • In-depth knowledge of routing and switching
  • Expertise in WAN / LAN / WIRELESS LAN / MPLS / Cisco L3 / ISE
  • Knowledge of protocols such as Static, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
  • Experience with load balancers (F5)
  • Experience in cloud solutions – Networks (e.g., Azure, Google, Amazon)
  • Knowledge of VMware NSX (for data center projects)
  • Firewall expertise (ASA, Palo Alto Panorama)
  • Understanding of automation and IaC and Script-based languages (e.g., Powershell and C#) or Equivalent technologies such as Hashicorp's Ansible/Nomad
  • Excellent incident management and troubleshooting skills
  • Implementation of change requests
  • Experience as a new design/feature implementation manager as part of the network team
  • Works with integrity, i.e., in a manner that is performed correctly, transparently, with care, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and codes of conduct.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, fast, and cost-effective results.
  • Implement changes outside of business hours
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call duty
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Good communication and teaching skills within the team, helping junior and intermediate profiles to move to the next level
