We are recruiting for a Network Engineer to join a growing technology organisation in Hampshire.
This is a broad, hands-on engineering position combining networking, systems administration, Microsoft technologies and automation. You will play a key role in maintaining and developing the organisation's infrastructure, helping ensure its network, cloud, systems and endpoint environments operate securely and efficiently.
The position would suit an engineer with strong networking fundamentals who is also comfortable working across Windows and Linux environments and wants to develop further within automation and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and support LAN infrastructure and network services
- Manage and troubleshoot routing protocols and network traffic
- Support LAN switching, QoS and DSCP
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux systems
- Support Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID environments
- Automate operational and administrative tasks using scripting and automation tools
- Work with other technical teams on infrastructure and automation projects
- Monitor and improve system performance, security and reliability
- Maintain technical documentation, configurations and processes

Skills and Experience
We are looking for experience across a combination of the following:
Networking
- Strong LAN switching knowledge
- OSPF and BGP
- QoS and DSCP tagging
- Network troubleshooting
Systems
- Windows Server and client environments
- Linux administration
Microsoft Technologies
- Microsoft 365
- Intune
- Entra ID
Scripting and Automation
Experience with one or more of:
- PowerShell
- Python
- Bash
- Ansible
- Terraform
- Git
- Power Automate
- Power Apps
About You
You will be a proactive and methodical engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of technical issues and working across different areas of infrastructure.
You do not need to have worked with every technology listed. Strong networking and systems fundamentals, combined with an interest in automation and developing your technical knowledge, are particularly important.
