Hiring: Network Engineer / Data Centre Network Engineer
Location: Windsor & Branston, UK
Work Model: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week onsite in Windsor
Rate: £150 - 200 per day
Contract: Inside IR35
We are looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to join a long-term infrastructure and data centre programme supporting enterprise network environments across the UK and Europe. This is a great opportunity for a networking professional who enjoys a combination of routing, switching, network troubleshooting and hands-on data centre activities. You will work alongside remote network operations and engineering teams, supporting network infrastructure, deployments, troubleshooting and on-site technical activities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support enterprise LAN/WAN and data centre network infrastructure
- Configure, troubleshoot and support routers and switches
- Work with routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, and HSRP
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware and configuration issues
- Perform hands-on data centre activities including racking, stacking, cabling, patching and hardware replacement
- Carry out smart hands activities such as power cycling, device resets and physical checks
- Support network deployments and infrastructure transformation activities
- Work closely with remote NOC and network engineering teams
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, incident records and change information
- Follow customer security, operational and change-management standards

Essential Experience
- Previous experience as a Network Engineer, Network Support Engineer, NOC Engineer, Network Operations Engineer, Data Centre Engineer or similar
- Strong understanding of routing and switching
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, and VLANs
- Experience with dynamic routing protocols such as BGP and/or OSPF
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches or equivalent network hardware
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure issues
- Comfortable performing hands-on data centre / smart hands activities
- Good communication skills and ability to work with remote technical teams

Working Arrangements
- The role is primarily split between Windsor and Branston, with occasional travel to other UK or European locations, including sites such as Frankfurt and Paris.
- You must be comfortable working at least 2 days per week from the Windsor office and travelling to other locations when required.
- As the customer is US-based, some flexibility may be required for customer meetings outside standard UK hours and occasional scheduled weekend changes. Additional hours will be compensated with time off in lieu.
