We're working with a leading organisation operating who are looking to strengthen their Technical Operations team with an experienced Network Engineer.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for the implementation, support and ongoing improvement of network infrastructure across WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and firewalls, covering datacentres, Azure and office/depot environments.
You'll work closely with internal technical teams, Cyber Security, project teams and external service partners, acting as a key escalation point for network issues and helping to ensure the organisation's network remains secure, reliable and performing at its best.
What You'll Be Doing
- Implementing and supporting network infrastructure across WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and firewalls.
- Managing and supporting Cisco ACI, Cisco FMG and the Fortinet ecosystem.
- Working with Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs and VPN gateways.
- Reviewing technical designs and providing guidance to ensure solutions meet security policies and industry standards.
- Managing network security across firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAC and network segmentation.
- Working alongside the Cyber Security team on vulnerability remediation, risk assessments and threat intelligence.
- Acting as an escalation point for complex network incidents and helping minimise disruption to IT services.
- Working with internal stakeholders and external service providers on network changes, roadmaps and delivery.
- Monitoring network performance and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, performance and efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate network configurations, topologies and technical documentation.
- Supporting the integration of new networking technologies into the existing infrastructure.
- Identifying opportunities for automation and reducing manual network configuration activities.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with strong hands-on network engineering experience who can operate comfortably across networking, security and cloud environments.
You'll bring:
- Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching.
- Proven experience with Cisco ACI and Cisco FMG.
- Strong experience across the Fortinet ecosystem.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs and network segmentation.
- Experience configuring and managing network firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN and NAC technologies.
- Experience with routing protocols such as BGP and switching technologies including STP and VLANs.
- Experience working with Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs and VPN gateways.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience acting as an escalation point for network issues.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders, technical teams and external service providers.
- The ability to work under pressure and support major incidents where required.

We'd Be Particularly Interested If You Have
- CCNA or equivalent certification.
- AZ-700 / Microsoft Azure Networking certification.
- Experience working with NAC.
- Experience with network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds.
- Experience with network automation and scripting.
- Experience working within a CNI, regulated or similarly security-conscious environment.
