Job Title: Network Engineer

About the Role

This role designs, implements, and evolves a highly available global financial network spanning data centres, trading floors, and enterprise sites. You will lead network design and delivery work — new builds, platform refreshes, and third-party service turn-ups — while acting as senior technical escalation for complex network issues. The role suits an engineer with excellent data centre and enterprise network fundamentals, a solid understanding of EVPN and VXLAN on Arista, a strong drive to automate manual processes, and an interest in applying AI tooling creatively to operational problems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement data centre and enterprise network solutions, including new installations, platform refresh and redesign, and site migrations
  • Deliver network projects end to end: design documentation, build, testing, cutover, and handover to operations
  • Turn up and support services to third parties, including CDN, extranet services, and VPNs
  • Lead routing and switching design and configuration across Juniper, Arista, and Cisco platforms, covering BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, route manipulation, redistribution, and filtering
  • Design, build, and support EVPN/VXLAN data centre fabrics on Arista platforms
  • Act as senior escalation for complex network incidents, contribute to root cause analysis, and drive permanent resolutions
  • Build network automation and tooling (Python, Ansible) to remove manual effort, and apply AI creatively to monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational problems
  • Work with and refine enterprise monitoring solutions so monitoring and alert coverage keeps pace with the estate
  • Maintain infrastructure hygiene through code upgrades, EOL hardware replacement, and network audits
  • Keep design and support documentation accurate for internal and customer support teams
  • Implement BAU changes in accordance with the change management process (break fix, moves, adds, and changes)
  • Mentor junior engineers and analysts, and ensure smooth handover of network issues between regions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
