Department description

Within the Technology area, the Network Team is responsible for the overall IT network of the company. The Network Team is central to the success of the organisation and works with the global IT teams in Asia, Europe and North America to monitor and maintain the network systems to ensure maximum uptime and service delivery to the business.

Role Summary
The Network team is responsible for the overall design, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Global network infrastructure. To provide support for the wider technology group and to ensure technical requirements are delivered as per mandated by the Network and Technology group. A thorough understanding of global network operations, and security best practices aligned with financial compliance and regulations, is important to the overall success of the team and business.
We are seeking a strong network engineer with a passion for automation and scripting to enhance and streamline our operations and engineering practices. The ideal candidate will leverage one or more scripting languages, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate our configurations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Role specific:
- Project network consultancy for different line of business for new technical network requirements.
- Maintenance of the Marex Network.
- Operational support for all network related issues.
- Design/Implementation of new network requirements/changes.
- Network security design and implementation.
- Procuring equipment and managing of vendors.
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours and to work on a weekend when required. (overtime compensation).
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
- Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting The Company may require you to carry out other duties time to time.

Competencies, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience of working in the banking/finance industry is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- #CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSE or equivalent certification is desirable.
Network WAN Technologies:
- MPLS, IPSEC VPN, SD-WAN, QOS, NAT, SASE
Routing and Switching protocols:
- BGP/OSPF/EIGRP.
Wifi, STP, RSTP, VLAN, HSRP, VRRP, VRF, MLAG, Etherchannel, Multicast PIM Sparse and dense mode.
Security:
- NextGen Layer 7 firewalling, User-ID, SSL decryption, Network Access Control, Radius/TACACS.
Cloud networking:
- Strong working knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud networking is required
- AWS – VPC’s, Transit Gateways, Direct Connects, VPN Gateways.
- Azure – Vnet, VPN GWs, Express route.
Automation:
- Python (Netmiko, NAPALM), Ansible playbook design and deploy. Terraform IaC Process automation.
Vendors:
- Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Aruba (wifi/Clearpass).
Hardware:
- PA220,440,3200 series firewalls, Panorama.
- Cisco 9200/9300/4500.
- Cisco Nexus 9k.
- Juniper MX series routers.
- Arista 7k series.
- Aruba Access points and Clearpass NAC.
Troubleshooting:
- IP network packet troubleshooting and analysis.
- LAN network device troubleshooting.
- WAN network device troubleshooting.
- Firewall security troubleshooting.
Design and Architecture:
- WAN/Campus LAN network design and implementation.
- Firewall DMZ design and implementation.
- Understanding of different exchange connectivity (e.g. CME, SGX, ICE, Eurex, LME).
- DMA (Direct Market Access) and low-latency network design/experience is desirable
